Flower Trial

My friends Lisa & Kevin are getting married this weekend! Very exciting. I posted their invites a while back (which were fabulous!). So I met with Lisa last week and went over some ideas and mocked up a trial centerpiece. She's getting married at the Green Room where the ceilings are high so we thought some high and low centerpieces would be perfect. So here are the high centerpieces!

Wedding Colors: Pink & Green

Pink dahlias with yellow centers, green coxcomb (look like coral) and super green roses

Other flowers used were hydrangeas, pink roses, hot pink dahlias, orchids and stock.

Maggie's Personal Flowers

I posted about Maggie getting married earlier this month at Casa de la Vista in Treasure Island, San Francisco. I wasn't able to show some pictures of her personal flowers because my camera was a little off with it's color. Anyway, Maggie's photographer Paula Gloistein did a wonderful job on her pictures and took some nice shots of the bouquets. Yeah!

Maia's Pocketfolds

I posted Maia's Invitation Suite earlier but here's the real deal. She wanted the invitation to be thermographed (raised printing) and the original invite she had designed was too complicated for that type of printing. So this is where I came in! I helped her design some invites and changed the art work. They printed and assembled on their own to save some money. They did a fantastic job!

Technical Difficulties...

It seems that my blog updater is not working up to par. Apologies for that and hopefully I can get it figured out soon! I'll let you know when I get it up and running and check back often for updates.

In the mean time I thought I would find out a little more about my readers! Please answer the following questions in the comments section.

2. What ideas would you like to see more of?

And if you are getting married or recently got married...
3. Wedding Date
4. Wedding Colors
5. Wedding Location

A drawing will take place on Friday, July 20th at 5pm. Winner will receive a free custom monogram! It could be for you, your wedding or business! Thanks for playing and I'll announce the winner on my blog (but make sure you leave your name!).

Brian's 30th Birthday!

I mentioned a month ago that it was my brother-in-law's 30th birthday. It was a 5 tier event where it started out with breakfast at 10am, a 1pm BBQ, 7pm dinner, 9pm dessert reception and topped it all off with some dancing at 1am. I didn't last until the dancing part....it was a very long and FUN day. I was in charge of the desserts!

Cupcakes! I made chocolate orange cupcakes with chocolate frosting and vanilla bourbon cupcakes with buttercream frosting. Yum!

I couldn't resist the napkins......

Shots with the birthday boy!
The guys did "car bomb" shots

The birthday boy is wearing stripes
and that's how he was pretty much for the rest of the night :)
Welcome to "thirty" Brian!

Kelly's Invites

I helped Kelly design her invites. She printed, cut and assembled to save some money. She did a beautiful job! If you are even remotely DIY (do it yourself) inclined then this is one of the easiest ways to save some money. It takes a lot of time and patience but you'll be so proud when you finish.

Kelly went all out and used 3 backing layers!

Sew Cute!

I have always LOVED any type of sewing on paper. It just adds an extra little something. Sew...I have been slaving away on some baby shower invitations for a friend. She's having a baby boy - congrats Mindy! Anyway, they turned out pretty darn cute!

Close-Up

These are some baby shower invites I made for my friend Brenda earlier in the year. She already had her baby boy and he's adorable.

I love the little chick!

What do you think?! Now if there's only a way to mass produce these puppies....

Carisa and J

My 07-07-07 wedding! Carisa and J got married at the Rengstorff House in Mountain View, CA. It's a beautiful outdoor location with a nice layout. It was a dreary day in San Francisco but when I drove down it was beautiful and sunny. I helped Carisa with her ceremony decor and showed her how to do her own centerpieces. She did a beautiful job by adding a lot personal touches and details. Okay, enough talking....

Ceremony Area before flowers

Making the garland
My husband (Ben) had to help me hang this puppy up!
It required 2 people and a ladder.
The garland had 3 shades of red roses (Black Magic, Magnum and Black Bakara) and red dahlias with a touch of Croscomia Montbretia

Ben helped by setting up the shepherd's hooks (what a good husband!) It was a warm day and I asked him to "air out the balls (meaning pomanders) and fluff them up" since they had been sitting in the box for a while. He thought that was funny. "Air out the balls?" he asked. Boys will be boys.....

Then I began to work and did not pay any attention to him. He took some good detail shots.

Fan Programs and she had personalized water bottles under the chairs!

Umbrellas for those who didn't like the sun.Still ignoring him....

Okay - he has my attention now

I was wondering why he was being so quiet...now I know!! This is what happens when you leave your husband alone with a camera....

Okay - back to the ceremony.

RECEPTION

Carisa made all of these centerpieces and added some very nice personal touches.

Love the bling!!

Great job Carisa!! You did a fabulous job. Congrats married lady!
