Bouquet Breakdown

Many times I have brides (and people in general) ask me, "What is that flower?" There are so many photos of beautiful bouquets and arrangements in magazines, blogs and websites but they don't always go into the detail of describing what flowers are in it. And if they do - they just name the flower, and if you don't know what that flower looks like - you have no idea what they are talking about!

So I thought I would start a blog series called Bouquet Breakdown. Anytime I come across a beautiful bouquet that contains a variety of flowers I'll break it down for you so you know what flowers are in there.

So first up is one of my favorite bouquets that my friend Sara from Stinkerpants Designs carried at her wedding. It was bright and colorful that really popped against her white dress. The bouquet was designed my Calla Lily Wedding Flowers and the photo taken by Jennifer Kloss Photography.

So if you see a bouquet or centerpiece that you want me to break down - just email me the picture and I'll post it in the series!

E + G |The Palm Event Center| Pleasanton

I wrote about Emily and Greg earlier - they had a small civil ceremony in San Francisco in June and then celebrated later on with friends and extended family at the Palm Event Center in Pleasanton. Emily wanted to use shades of pink and keep things simple and elegant. I'm afraid I was so focused on getting the centerpieces put together that I forgot to take pictures of them :( But I was able to take some photos of the bouquets and ceremony set up!

Ceremony in the barrel room. We went with a long aisle runner, some pink rose petals and floating candles. The floating candles are hard to see but they are on the floor next to the aisle.

Just Too Cute

So I have a lot of blogs on my google reader and if I'm lucky - I get a chance to go through and look at the pictures and read about the latest and greatest. Every so often I come across something that just makes me smile.

I saw this photo from the blog of Heather from One Love Photo. I actually laughed out loud and it just made me happy.

You must check out Heaterh's blog and website. Her pictures are inspiring.

More June Wedding

Here are a couple of more pictures from the June Weddings I did this year. I'm putting together my July weddings photos too so those should be coming soon!

Bride's bouquet with peonies, garden roses, lisanthus, freesia and dahlias.

The turquoise ribbon really looked nice with the white bouquets.

June Weddings

For some reason in June I became very absentminded! I would forget my camera OR bring my camera to take picture and get so caught up with setting up that I would forget to use the camera and take pictures. So I have a bunch of pictures from different weddings of either their personal flowers, ceremony or reception flowers. The flowers were beautiful and it would be a shame not to share them just because I don't have a "complete" wedding to show. Complete meaning the personal, ceremony and reception decor. So I decided I will just show you what I have and hope I get some great pro pics from the bride or photographer so I can share more :)

First up is Zack and Jhoana's wedding. They got married in this cute little church in Yountville, CA and had their reception at Nicholson Ranch, Sonoma, CA. Jhoana had her bridesmaids wear shades of pink and burgundy dresses and we used the flowers to tie it all together.

Here is the bride's bouquet: Peonies, freesia, sahara roses, white calla lilies

For the bridesmaids we did shades of pink with roses, dahlias, freesia and boxwood greenery.

Jhoana made some really cute programs!

The linens weren't on the tables yet so I set the centerpieces inside (it was really hot in Sonoma that day) to keep them fresh. Here a picture of them altogether. I used different shades of pink peonies, roses, dahlias, stock, roses and boxwood greenery.

Next up is Emily and Greg's civil ceremony in San Francisco. Her wedding was in July but they had a small ceremony in June. She wanted a small bouquet to hold so I made something colorful and bright to pop against her black dress she would be wearing. I have to say that I really loved this bouquet. The bright colors and textures really blended well together and something about it was so cheery and hopeful!

I have a couple more June weddings to share so stayed tuned!
