Stumbleupon + Etsy Bridal Event

I had a great time meeting all sorts of awesome people at the Stumbleupon and Esty event last week.  It was a lot of fun working with one of my previous brides Cathelya (a.k.a Mrs. Penguin from Weddingbee) who hosted the Lover.ly booth.  The opportunity came up pretty last minute so we didn't have a lot of time to plan but maybe that was a good thing?  I had to come up with a plan fast and didn't have time to change my mind.  Overall, I'm pretty excited how everything turned out and a big thank you to Amanda from One True Love Vintage Rentals for hooking me up with the super awesome farm table, vintage doors with the shelves and the chair.  I definitely would not have been able to pull the look together without her pieces.

If you haven't checked out Stumbleupon yet - it's a fun tool to find things you like.  You can check out some of the things I stumbledupon here: http://www.stumbleupon.com/stumbler/huckleberrykaren

While you are at it - you should also check out Lover.ly - a place where you can bundle all of your beautiful wedding inspiration in one place.  I'll be sharing some of my favorite bundles soon!

And here are some lovely photos taken by Melanie Duerkopp.  Thank you Melanie for sharing these with us!!

Here is my "booth" where I chatted with brides about the upcoming nuptials.

Here is Amanda's section for One True Love Vintage Rentals.  She just picked up this awesome shoe rack and so I decorated it with a garland and accented it with some bold flowers in the corner.

Here is the Lover.ly table.  Absolutely adorable!

The desserts were made by Batter Bakery located in San Francisco.  All I can say is YUM.  I managed to sneak in a cookie and cupcake and both were delicious!

Blu Bungalow

Very excited to share that Huckleberry Karen Designs is now part of the wonderful family of Blu Bungalow!  What is Blu Bungalow?  It's a wedding planning boutique where newly engaged couples and brides can swing by and get some expert advice on planning their wedding (or any other event).  The best part?  It's free.  Yeah, that's right.  It's free.  You can walk in and gather some resources, take a look around and plan away.  I had the pleasure of visiting Blu Bungalow last month and the place is amazing.

The location?  Even better.  It's on Union Street in San Francisco where you can get all sorts of shopping done.  Some of my favorites on Union Street are:

- The Union Street Papery (All the invitation eye candy you can think of)
- Forget Me Knots Bridal (Adorable wedding dress boutique where you can buy dresses off the rack.  I actually bought my bridal veil there)
- Haute Bride (Gorgeous bridal accessories including shoes, hair pieces, jewelry and couture bridal gowns)
- That Takes the Cake (for yummy cupcakes - the red velvet is to die for)

So basically, you can get all sorts of wedding stuff done on Union Street in San Francisco!

Bridal Faire Showcase Part Two | Crowne Valley Plaza Hotel | Palo Alto

I posted about the bridal faire I was a part of last week - here are some more photos!

I wanted to do something a little more glamorous for my last vignette.  My first display was more modern seen here and the other was more fun and casual seen here.  I wanted to use the white branch I had in the studio and decided to go with whites and pinks for something soft and romantic.

The Bride's Bouquet with dahlias, peonies, calla lilies, roses, ranunculus
and accented with some pink feathers.

I also loved my neighbor at the show - not only because she shared her cupcakes but she's truly one of the nicest person I have met!  Keisha owns That Takes the Cake located in San Francisco.  They specialize in cupcakes for weddings and events.  They have some great flavors that are really fun and unique.  She has one called Fuzzy Navel and another cupcake with Bailey's cream and chocolate.  Yum!

Bridal Faire Showcase Part One | Crowne Valley Plaza Hotel | Palo Alto

I was one of the vendors at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Palo Alto this past weekend and had the opportunity to showcase some of my work.  It was great seeing some industry friends and making new ones too!  I decided to show 3 different styles to show some diversity.

First Display: Happiness!

I used some of my left over flowers for Beverly's from Especially Yours Chair Covers display.

More pictures from the bridal faire to come!

Table Scape Five - Sophia

Table Sophia was all about the bling. I have noticed one of the hot color trends for this year is the color raspberry. Lisa really wanted to use the black and white linen and I thought raspberry would be a great accent color so that's how Table Sophia was born. I created a tall centerpiece to add some glamour and decorated the chairs with some crystals.

The centerpiece had at least 75 roses and 25 dahlias in there. That's a lot of flowers!

Here are some more photos by James from James + Lisa Photography.

Table Scape Four - Lisa

This table scape was the brain child of Lisa from Bellissima Vita Weddings - thus the reason why we named it Lisa. This was her favorite table concept and we had fun being creative with the place setting, napkin treatments and flowers. This was my chance to do something different. The color combinations we used were orange, sky blue and chocolate brown. Get ready for a lot of pictures!

I LOVED these arrangements. Simple yet stunning.
All it took was a leaf and orchid.
