Burlap + Lace | Photo Shoot | Villa Montalvo

Here's a peek at a photo shoot I worked on a couple of months ago for Ceremony Magazine.  I liked the idea of combining burlap with lace.  I had an upcoming wedding where we would be using a lot of mercury vases and candles combined with lace accents.  I used that wedding as an inspiration to create my version of burlap and lace.  And if you aren't a big fan of babies breath - maybe you will be now.  There is something so simple and elegant when you take a bunch of babies breath and put it together.   They look like puffs of clouds.  I would very much like to make a big pillow made of babies breath and stick my baby girl on it and take a picture.  Now that would be a vision.  Okay - enough daydreaming and on to the pictures.

I saw the lace cap overlay and chair covers on Wildflower Linen blog and fell in love.  I love the little bustle and skirt for the chairs and the bow.  I love the bow.

L + D Wedding | Flood Mansion

Lindsey came to me with a clear vision.  She wanted something romantic with soft muted colors in shades of cream, blush pink and lavender.  We brought in hints of gold with the candelabras and I wish I could have captured just how beautiful the room looked.  I was running around like a mad person setting things up so I didn't get a chance to take a photo of the bride's bouquet which is a shame cause it was gorgeous.  Crossing my fingers that her photographer will share one with me later on.  I did have some time to snap some images of the details.

E + T Wedding | San Francisco City Hall | Intercontinental Hotel

Sleek, modern and lots of bling.  This San Francisco City Hall has just the right amount of bling to makes this girl happy.  The bride chose to use all white flowers to keep things clean and modern and added touches of purple and lavender through her lighting and paper goods.

C + J Wedding

Christa and Jared are one of the sweetest couples I know!  They were planning their wedding from Orange County and happen to live in the city I grew up in (Irvine).  Christa wanted shades of pink flowers with some green and eggplant purple accents.  She liked things soft and romantic and she of course loves ranunculus and peonies (who doesn't?!)

Here is the very sweet thank you note I received from Christa and Jared after the wedding:

Dear Karen,
Where do we even begin?  Thank you so much for providing the most beautiful flowers for our wedding.  We knew you would do a great job, but we were still blown away by the work.  The flowers couldn't have been more perfect and working with you was such a pleasure.  Thank you. Thank you for everything!

Love,
Christa and Jared

E + J Wedding | Sharon Heights Country Club | Woodside

This wedding had all of the adorable details that I love along with the color combo to die for!  Yelena of The Stylish Soiree designed the event and used navy blue, white, gray and hints of peaches and corals for a pop of color.  Emily hired an awesome team of vendors so of course everything went off without a hitch!

Thank you Meg for sharing these lovely photos with us!

Stumbleupon + Etsy Bridal Event

I had a great time meeting all sorts of awesome people at the Stumbleupon and Esty event last week.  It was a lot of fun working with one of my previous brides Cathelya (a.k.a Mrs. Penguin from Weddingbee) who hosted the Lover.ly booth.  The opportunity came up pretty last minute so we didn't have a lot of time to plan but maybe that was a good thing?  I had to come up with a plan fast and didn't have time to change my mind.  Overall, I'm pretty excited how everything turned out and a big thank you to Amanda from One True Love Vintage Rentals for hooking me up with the super awesome farm table, vintage doors with the shelves and the chair.  I definitely would not have been able to pull the look together without her pieces.

If you haven't checked out Stumbleupon yet - it's a fun tool to find things you like.  You can check out some of the things I stumbledupon here: http://www.stumbleupon.com/stumbler/huckleberrykaren

While you are at it - you should also check out Lover.ly - a place where you can bundle all of your beautiful wedding inspiration in one place.  I'll be sharing some of my favorite bundles soon!

And here are some lovely photos taken by Melanie Duerkopp.  Thank you Melanie for sharing these with us!!

Here is my "booth" where I chatted with brides about the upcoming nuptials.

Here is Amanda's section for One True Love Vintage Rentals.  She just picked up this awesome shoe rack and so I decorated it with a garland and accented it with some bold flowers in the corner.

Here is the Lover.ly table.  Absolutely adorable!

The desserts were made by Batter Bakery located in San Francisco.  All I can say is YUM.  I managed to sneak in a cookie and cupcake and both were delicious!
