A Birthday Celebration!

I ended July with a birthday celebration for my Mother in Law - Trudy. It was a 60th Birthday Celebration so it had to be fabulous (since Trudy is pretty fabulous herself). I had Lisa from Bellissima Weddings help out since my pregnant belly slows me down these days!

The food that we ordered was some barbecue from Armadillo Willy's so wanted to do a nice version of a outdoor picnic. The colors we used were chartreuse, yellow and white.

First I made the invites. I designed the invite on my computer and
bought supplies from Paper Source.

We had the party in their backyard so we rented some tables, chairs and
linens from Classic Party Rentals.

For the centerpiece I made a small floral arrangement, filled a vase with
some limes and made a small pomander with daisies.

I loved these little pomanders!

It was a small affair (30 guests) so we treated each linen napkin
with an orchid and berries.

We decorated the fence and trees with some paper lanterns.

The tall branch arrangement I made for the appetizer table.
Do you see the red cooler in the background?
That was instantly removed once I saw it in the picture. :)

As a surprise for Trudy we hired a Caricaturist to draw some pictures of the guests.
Here is grandma and Grandpa with their picture!

Here's the picture drawn for Ben and me.

Hope you enjoyed your birthday Trudy!

N & R Wedding

Nancy and Robert got married at the SFO Westin Hotel in Millbrae, California. The Westin has this beautiful ballroom with hanging chandeliers from the ceilings. Unlike most hotels, the carpet and walls are pretty neutral in color so you can really dress the room up the way you want. The couple's color combo was pink and brown - a personal favorite of mine!

Nice detail with personalized water bottles for the out of town bags.

C & D Wedding

Caryn and David got married at the cutest little church in Tiburon, California. It's the Old St. Hilary's Church on top a of a hill that over looks the bay. They had their reception just down the hill at the Corinthian Yacht Club.

Caryn's colors were hot pink and kelly green and she wanted to use limes and gerber daisies to make things look fun and colorful.

I love this picture with all of the reception centerpieces together.

Look at the cute programs Caryn made!

I love this layered look. Caryn loved how they turned out but
said it was a pain to make :)

The gerber daisies remind me of puppies. So cute, happy and friendly!

Finally Published!!

If a magazine blog counts (which in my book it does!) then I have my first wedding featured in a Bridal Magazine. So exciting! Things have been really busy around here. Besides my belly getting bigger (for those who don't know I am expecting my first baby in 3 months...gulp) I've been busy every weekend with weddings, parties and all sorts of good stuff. I have tons of pictures to share but of course I need to download them.

Okay - here are some pictures of Cathleya + Mark's Wedding! I made Cathy's personal flowers and helped her with the DIY centerpieces she made for the reception. Gorgeous!! Here is the link for more information on the wedding at Southern Wedding Magazine.

Here are a couple more pictures from Cathy's photographer, Sara K Chen. More pictures can be found on her blog!

Is she the cutest with the pomander?

Cathy posted about the DIY trial centerpiece as Miss Penguin on the Weddingbee. Here's the link to the tutorial.

J & D Flowers

I mentioned in the previous post that I did Jessica and Dave's wedding invites and flowers. Jessica wanted shades of cream and pink flowers that were "fluffy". Well - the ultimate fluffy out there is the peony. Peonies are usually in season for only 6 weeks or so and I wasn't sure we could get them in July. I was able to get some for Jessica though and put some in her bouquet. Yeah!

J & D Invites

I was able to assist Jessica and Dave with their invitations and flowers for their wedding! I was very excited when they decided to have the invites letterpressed. They hired Mercurio Brothers based out of Berkeley and from what I hear, one of the more affordable printing companies out there. You provide the design and they print. I love how they turned out!

I'll post pictures of their flowers next so stay tuned!
